BAH is a tax-free monthly allowance for service members living off-base. OCONUS service members typically receive OHA (Overseas Housing Allowance) instead — rates vary by pay grade and location. During OCONUS TDY/training (ADT, FTX), BAH is generally paid at the home station rate. Rates update annually.
